Right so since I've been in a pissed off mood with poker and my play in tournaments over the last few weeks I decided to multi-table two 180-man $4.40 SnG's. The reasoning behind this is that I tighten up my pre-flop game and I don't get tempted to donk my chips away.
So I load up the first one and first hand Ac Ah on the big blind. How deceptive! A raise from middle position to 80 and a re-raise to 350 from the button. I 4-bet all in and the original raiser folds with the button insta-calling. He rolls over Ad Kd. and despite a flush draw sweat appearing on the turn a lovely blank hits the river and I double through.
The next havd I fold K J off with the pot raised and my position meaning I would have had a sucky play on the hand.
Nothing happened for the next few minutes while the second tournament seemed to be stuck on 79/180 with ages.
Then...
I get AQ off suit in middle to late position and 3x raise to 60. I get raised by the BB to 120 leaving me fearing a cheeky min-raise with aces or kings.
The flop comes an AMAZING A-A-Q with two diamonds. NUTS!!
The BB RAISES my C-bet so I re-raise to display trips or two pair. He flat calls.
The turn is a brick so I check. The villan bets. I call.
The river peels off a 6 of diamonds. "He hit the flush, I know he was chasing it, are you that big a donkey to go broke on a flush on a paired board? Hopefully. This is the problem with small-stakes poker you never know who's chasing a flush, who has 2-pair, a set, anything.
He bets the pot, so I go into my time bank knowing a value bet witt essentially pot-commit the villan.
I bet 750, he pushes, I insta call. He's got A-K of diamonds. The definition of a cooler to flop trips and river a flush and I have one of the only hands that beat him. Sick.
The other SnG opens and I enter the mode I call robo-poker. I put on my headphones and only turn off when the break comes at 5 to the hour. Out for a smoke and I'm the terminator again at the start of play...haha!
I honestly do not know what happened for the next two hours I have not been so focused on an online game since the Sunday Quarter Million I came 27th in.
Anyway the final table opens on the first tournament with me 4th in chips and a huge gulf between me and the shortstacks who held out for the final table with their stacks being blinded and ante'd away to nothing (one guy made it wth 4BB behind) I'm on 13,5157. The chip leader is on 22,560. Basicaly 3rd or better once I behaved myself.
The other tournament was on 20 left with the bubble being 18 I sat out leaving with a healthy stack only keeping an eye on the cards dealt where I mucked pocket Jacks pre-flop because of two all-ins before me... AA vs. KQ the flop comes K-6-J...slightly sickened until the A on the river.
Then I look back to the final table. The 3rd stack called two all ins with top set and sends the two others packing making him the new chipleader.
I get dealt A-K on the button with the 2nd stack 4x-ing from middle position. I flat call him and the flop comes K-2-2 so I lead out to about 2000. He flat calls and the turn brings me my 3rd King for a house. I thought for a while and with my stack being 8000 and the pot being 7000 pushed all-in the villan folded and I took 2nd.
I waitied patiently stealing blinds then the game became three handed from nowhere and left me the short-stack.
I open shoved with K-Q and get called by A-6 I flop a Q but the villan flops his Ace leaving me to 5 outs. I dont hit but recieve $85 for my 3rd place finish.
The other tournament I place 13th for $8.60 leaving my account in triple figures for the first time in weeks!!!
